Organic Peru La Florida

Cooperative La Florida was established in 1966 starting with only 50 members. October of 2008 marks its 42nd Anniversary. In 2002 together with our partner, Elan Organic Coffees, La Florida established a long term contract. With this long term contract, the producers are now able to continue their growth and set future goals to improve their community, schools and infrastructure with security.

In addition, Credi La Florida was established with $320,000 allowing for small loans to members.  Today, more than 1300 producers benefit from the micro-credit program.  The hope is that in the future the organization will be able to reach out beyond their current membership.

CETPROP has been established by the Cooperative La Florida to promote leadership and creativity among member’s families’ children.  Programs in organic agriculture will allow kids to apply lessons learned in school to the broader community effort to bring fine organic coffees to market.

Grown at altitudes in excess of 4800 feet and as high as 6000 feet, these washed bourbons, typical, pache and caturra blends are spicy florals that exhibit a nippy brightness accompanied by a very heavy body.
