Swiss Water Decaf Organic Sumatra
The trip from Western Sumatra to Vancover Canada highlights the journey this coffee takes to produce a magnificent cup. Care is taken at each stage in the travel to insure perfection for this Organic Fair Trade coffee.
The cooperative that produces this crop is located in Gayo Mountain region of Aceh, Sumatra. Due in part to the quality of this coffee, desperately needed money is now arriving to rebuild the devastated infrastructure. A portion of the crop is shipped to the Swiss Water plant in Canada to be processed as decaffeinated coffee. The rich earth tones along with the chocolate smooth velvety body that are inherent in the beans are maintained via the diligence of the water processing. We roast this unique coffee to just after it begins to crack - somewhere between what would normally be considered light and dark roasts.
